This community of doers, builders, artists, and adventurers who live and work and fish and swap stories here among the redwoods of coastal California needed a brand to match their sturdy spirit. Cubic answered the call, spending time in this interesting place and listening to the tales told by these seafaring individualists. Out of that deep dive came a strong appreciation for Fort Bragg’s Wild Beauty.
It all begins with a deep dive.
Eager to uncover the story of Fort Bragg, our team traveled to the beautiful California coast, navigating our way through towering redwoods and winding roads to find what makes this hard-working community truly special.
Through community interviews and exploration, we gleaned stories of grit and tradition in true Fort Bragg fashion—over freshly caught seafood, on train rides through lush forest, and hiking in state parks with homemade banana bread (courtesy of our new North Coast friends). Here we found the essence of lore, waiting to be shared many years later.
In addition to defining the brand ethos, we identified the Fort Bragg ideal visitor – their needs, wants and aspirations. This helped us establish a brand framework designed to foster a meaningful and long-lasting connection between this unique community and its passionate visitors.
There’s nothing passive about Fort Bragg—it’s a place for doers, for builders, for the active and adventurous. It’s a place where people use their hands to negotiate the elements, to catch dinner, to create, to get things done. “Hands on” tells the story of Fort Bragg through the hands of the community and invites you to dig under the surface of things, get your hands dirty, and ultimately feel what you’re missing.
